Bollywood singer Ranu Mandal is celebrating her birthday today. She was born on 5 November 1960 in Krishna Nagar, West Bengal. Ranu Mandal, who lost her parents only 6 months after birth in Ranaghat. Before becoming a Bollywood singer, she was a common poor woman who used to beg by singing Bollywood songs at the railway station to earn money. Ranu Mandal loves listening to songs by Mohammad Rafi, Mukesh and Lata Mangeshkar as well as many other popular singers since childhood. Her hobby has brought her to a place where the whole world has known her.

The father of Ranu Mandal, who belongs to the Christian religion, used to run a stall, her mother was a homemaker. She was married at the age of 19 to Bablu Mandal, but in 2009, her husband Bablu died. She had a daughter and a son from the first husband. After the demise of her first husband, Ranu Mandal got married, leading to a daughter.

No one in life supported her, so for her life, she used to do small tasks and begged by singing at the railway station. In view of her poverty, her daughter also left her. Ranu Mandal's career started by doing small jobs. After doing small work with her husband in Mumbai, she got an opportunity to sing in a club. After working at the club for a short time, she returned to her home in Ranaghat when her husband refused her to sing. Her husband died shortly after returning to Ranaghat.
