Patna: A 24-year-old man's body was found at the residence of Congress MLA Neetu Singh in Bihar's Nawada district, as reported by the police on Saturday. The victim, identified as Piyush Singh, was a distant relative of Neetu Singh. At the time of the discovery, Neetu Singh was away from her home in Narhat, and no other family members were present. The police were alerted to the situation at around 4:30 pm, prompting a response from the Nawada Superintendent of Police (SP), Ambrish Rahul.
According to the SP, the police team found Piyush Singh's body in a room belonging to Golu Singh, who is Neetu Singh's nephew. Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) experts and dog squad teams were later called in to investigate the case. Golu Singh, in whose room the body was discovered, is the son of Neetu Singh's brother-in-law Suman Singh and Abha Singh, a former district president of Congress. Piyush Singh and Golu Singh were cousins, both having connections with the MLA's family.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Piyush Singh visited Golu Singh's house around 7 pm on Saturday and did not return home. It is suspected that the incident leading to Piyush Singh's death occurred during the night. The SP mentioned that the body was sent for a post-mortem examination, and the police were conducting searches at Neetu Singh's residence. While Golu Singh is considered a suspect, no arrests have been made thus far, and the suspect is currently evading the authorities. The exact timeline of the incident will be determined once the post-mortem results are available.
