Nilu Phule, who became famous for his work in Marathi and Hindi films, passed away on July 13, 2009. Today is his death anniversary. Nilu Phule has worked in films in the seventies. Nilu Phule's full name was  Nilkanth Krushnaji Phule alias Nilubhau Phule. He was first a companion of the short-term Sangh branch, although it does not welcome Muslim, Christian, religious friends. When this started happening, he left the Union and joined the Rashtriya Seva Dal. In fact, that period was of the freedom movement. At that time, Nilubhau created his independent identity with his innovative ness in the field of drama, film, and at the same time continued to agitate.

The purpose of Nilu Phule's performance at that time was to build social reform and progressive thinking. Nilu Phule worked diligently in many kinds of folk drama. He also managed to make it to the film industry. He started his career with marathi film "Ek Gaon Bara Bhangdi".

He then appeared in films like Bhayaanak (2000), Ghar Bazar (1998), Disha (1991), Oonch Neech Beech (1989), Garibon Ka Daata (1989), Prem Pratigyaa (1989), Kabzaa (1988), Aurat Teri Yehi Kahani (1988), Mohre (1988), Sutradhar (1987). He worked with Dilip Kumar in films like "Mashal", "Coolie" with actor Amitabh Bachchan, and "Saransh" with Anupam Kher. He used to donate part of his earnings for social work and for service institutions.
