Bollywood's first showman, actor Raj Kapoor has a death anniversary today. On this day, in 1988, Raj Kapoor went on to say goodbye to all of us in New Delhi. Today is his death anniversary, let us know some of his facts:

Raj Kapoor was born in a Pathani Hindu family. Raj Kapoor, in his filmy career, got 11 Filmfare trophies, 3 national awards, ' Padma Bhushan ', ' Dadasaheb Phalke Award ' and ' Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award '.

His super hit films include Aawara (1951), Unhoni (1952), Aah (1953), Shri 420 (1955), Jaagte Raho (1956), Chori-Chori (1956), Anari (1959), Jis Desh Mei Ganga Behti Hai (1960), Chhaliya (1960), Dil Hi Toh Hai (1963), etc.

In 1930, Raj's father Prithviraj Kapoor came to Mumbai to start his acting career, where he had several stage performances and also travelled to various places across India with a group of 80 people.  Raj started his movie career as a clapper boy with a renowned Hindi film director Kidar Sharma.  

An incident is also famous that once Raj Kapoor had accidentally grabbed Kidar Sharma's fake beard, so an angry Kidar Sharma had slapped Raj Kapoor. A successful director, producer and actor Raj Kapoor once dreamt of becoming a music director in his early days.

After a year of independence, at the age of twenty-four in 1948, Raj Kapoor started the "RK Films" Company and directed the film "Aag" under it. 

Everyone was shocked at the time when Raj Kapoor's son Rishi Kapoor revealed his father's Relations various actresses in his autobiography ' Khullam Khulla '.  Raj had worked closely with music director Shankar-Jaikishen in more than 20 films in his film career.
