New Delhi: The Indian Air Force today said that the captain succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The Indian Air Force has reported this on its Twitter handle. The accident claimed the lives of 13 people, including CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife, on the same day. Meanwhile, hashtags #groupcaptainvarunsingh, #VarunSingh and RIP Sir are trending on Twitter. With the death of the Group Captain, there is once again an atmosphere of grief in the country. People are paying homage to this brave son of Mother India in his own way.

On Wednesday, 8th December, an INDIAN Air Force helicopter crashed at Coonoor in Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu. Out of 14 people on board, 13 died on the same day. Only Varun Singh survived the accident. He was undergoing treatment at a military hospital in Bengaluru.
