Mumbai: The death toll in the 3-story building that collapsed in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra has risen to 33. This information has been given by NDRF. It has been received that on Tuesday, the bodies of 7 more people were removed from the rubble. However, around 25 people have been safely brought out of the debris.

At the same time, police has said that after the evacuation of 5 more people from the rubble, the number of people saved till now has gone up to 25. These people have been admitted to hospitals in Bhiwandi and Thane. According to information received from sources, 11 children aged 2 to 15 years are also present among those who died. An official said that the 43-year-old 'Jilani Building' had collapsed at 3.40 am in the early hours of Monday.

There were about 40 flats in the building and the same 150 people lived here. It is clear from these things that Bhiwandi is located about 10 kilometers from Thane city. He said that two municipal officials have also been suspended in case of a building collapse. A case has also been registered against the owner of the building. While the civic body officer said that notices were sent to the people of the building in 2019 and February this year for alleged irregularities, but people did not evacuate the houses due to lower rent.
