New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has given only 24 hours to pro-Congress and self-proclaimed journalist Saket Gokhale. In these 24 hours, Saket Gokhale has been asked to delete all the tweets he had made against former Un (UN) Assistant Secretary-General Laxmi Puri. The Delhi High Court in its order said that Saket Gokhale should not only delete all tweets related to the case but will also not tweet any new one against Laxmi Puri. At the same time, the court ordered that Twitter delete the tweets if they are not deleted. The court has since also approved the prosecution of defamation.

During the hearing held on July 8, 2021, the Delhi High Court had objected to Saket Gokhale's tweet saying how he could defame people, especially when the tweets made by him were prima facie wrong. Justice C Hari Shankar of the Delhi High Court had questioned Saket Gokhale during the hearing whether he had approached the plaintiff or sought clarifications before tweeting.
