New Delhi: When the country is being given the mantra of self-reliant India, the deal of 111 helicopters of the Indian Navy is being affected. These aircraft were to be manufactured in their own country in a strategic partnership with other countries. There is no consensus in the Ministry of Defense that the responsibility of domestic construction will be given to private companies or to government companies. This deal is being affected due to confusion.

According to sources, the Indian Navy had already selected four Indian and three foreign companies, but in a recent conversation, it was reported that due to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), there is also a delay. Now it is also being said that Defense Public Sector Undertaking has approved for this.

According to sources, even after the recommendations of the Indian Navy, a decision has been taken that the participation of private companies without DPSU will be determined. The acquisition of Naval Utility Hospitals is being delayed due to HAL's participation status being sceptical. An official said that this project worth Rs 21,000 crore is needed to increase the strength of the Navy. These indigenous helicopters are to be prepared under the Make in India project.
