Abu Dhabi: Delhi Capitals (DC) wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant will not be able to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for at least a week due to a thigh muscle strain. This was stated by DC captain Shreyas Iyer. Pant was injured during Friday's match against Rajasthan Royals and could not play in Sunday's match against defending champions Mumbai Indians.

The Delhi team lost by five wickets in the match. After the match, when Captain Shreyas Iyer was asked how long Pant would be available to play, he replied, "I don't know about it. The doctors said that he will have to rest for a week and I hope he will make a strong comeback soon".

Delhi is to play a match against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday this week and Chennai Super Kings on Saturday. On Sunday, Pant was replaced by Alex Carey of Australia in the final. At the moment, Pant's fans are praying for their quick recovery and landing back in the field.
