The petition states that the Odd-Even scheme violates the fundamental right of citizens to do jobs and business and to go anywhere in the country without any hindrance. Questioning the arguments made about the Odd-Even scheme, the petition said that data from three sources, including the Central Pollution Control Board and Delhi Pollution Control Board, about Delhi's air quality, have confirmed that the earlier implementation of this scheme did not reduce the level of pollution. The court had directed the Delhi government to present the details of the results of pollution reduction under the Odd-Even scheme implemented in the past.
