On Saturday, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court reserved its decision, denying immediate relief to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the ongoing liquor policy case.

Kejriwal had been remanded to three-day CBI custody on Wednesday concerning the liquor policy issue. Following the conclusion of his police custody period, the CBI had requested judicial custody for Kejriwal, leading to the current court proceedings.

During the custody, the court granted permission for Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, and his legal representatives to meet him daily for 30 minutes. They were also allowed to provide him with his prescribed medications and home-cooked meals.

Special Judge Amitabh Rawat presided over the proceedings where the CBI, represented by DP Singh, sought permission to interrogate Kejriwal in an adjacent room for his formal arrest.

Earlier, on Tuesday, the CBI had questioned Kejriwal at Tihar Jail and recorded his statement regarding the Excise Policy case.

Kejriwal has been in judicial custody since March 21 in a money laundering case under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The Supreme Court had granted him interim bail on May 10 for 21 days to campaign during the Lok Sabha elections. He returned to custody on June 2.
