New Delhi: The Delhi court on Thursday will deliver its verdict on the anticipatory bail plea lodged by senior Congress leader and Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor in the death case of his wife Sunanda Pushkar.

Worth mention here Special Judge Arvind Kumar yesterday reserved its order on the aforesaid bail plea. On July 7, Tharoor has also been summoned as an accused in the death case.

The court reserved its judgment after the Delhi police have opposed to Tharoor’s bail plea citing that he might go away the nation.

Special Public Prosecution and the Delhi Police representative said that he might also result in harming the inquiry given that the Congress leader is a powerful personality.

He stated that Tharoor flies out of the country over and over again and a few witnesses “including Narayan Singh and Bajrangi are still working with Tharoor and he may influence them.

While Tharoor’s representative and senior Congress leaders Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Manu Singhvi told the court that police’s report is contrary to what they said earlier.

"In the charge sheet they said that Tharoor cooperated during the probe and, therefore, he was not arrested. Police are speaking to the contrary to what they said earlier,” the counsel gave their arguments in the court.
