New Delhi: Delhi's animal husbandry department said bird flu has been detected in all samples sent to a lab in Bhopal. Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisogave appealed to the people not to panic on Monday. He further claimed that bird flu has been found only in the ducks of the Ducks from Sanjay Lake and the report of other samples is yet to come.

To prevent the spread of bird flu or avian influenza, Sisogiven said the Delhi government has put a ban on the sale of packed chicken brought from outside the city. He further said that the Delhi government is making all efforts to check the spread of bird flu. He said people should not panic because the H5N1 virus does not spread to humans. Earlier today, Delhi Animal Husbandry Department director Rakesh Singh claimed that the avian influenza virus has been detected in all the eight samples sent from Delhi to the National Institute of High-Security Animal Diseases in Bhopal last week.

In Mayur Vihar Phase 3, four from a park, three from Sanjay Lake, and one sample from Dwarka were sent for avian influenza testing. According to Rakesh Singh, a campaign to kill ducks in the famous Sanjay Lake has begun where several ducks were found dead in the last few days. Officials had earlier said that 91 crows have been found dead in 14 DDA parks in the past few days.
