BJP leader accused TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee of derogatory remarks against Hindu deity

Kolkata: A statement by Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Kalyan Banerjee over Goddess Sita in West Bengal has created controversy. The MP's statement is currently going viral on social media. In which he made a disputed remark on goddess Sita. After which an FIR has now been lodged against him in the state and he has been asked to apologize for his statement.

Commenting on his disputed statement, BJP leader Locket Chatterjee has said that Kalyan Banerjee has hurt our sentiments. He says that he is disdainful of our tradition, Ramayana, and Mahabharata. He says that Mamata Banerjee and her MP should ask for it. If he does not ask for an apology, he will get the answer in the election this year.

In a viral video, Kalyan Chatterjee is saying about Sita Devi that once Sita had told Lord Rama that it was good that I had done Ravan and not by his (Ram's) disciples, if he kidnapped me, my fate would have been like Hathras. The video of his statement is becoming increasingly viral on social media. After the entire incident, BJP leaders have lodged an FIR against Kalyan Banerjee.
