New Delhi: People are facing an oxygen shortage amid the growing havoc of corona in the country's capital Delhi. Work has started towards setting up oxygen plants in three major hospitals under North Delhi Municipal Corporation. Delhi's Kejriwal government is also making every effort to meet the oxygen shortage.

North Delhi Municipal Corporation officials along with mayor Jai Prakash took stock of the plant at the hospital. Mayor Jai Prakash said that we are in talks with Indian Oil through corporate social responsibility (CSR) to set up an oxygen plant. They have sent the municipal file. The corporation will set up an oxygen plant within a month as soon as the file is allowed and the fund will arrive. According to the mayor, it will be the North Delhi Municipal Corporation's own oxygen plant. Patients admitted to the hospital in the near future will not face an oxygen shortage, which is currently being faced by people in many big hospitals in Delhi.

The mayor also said that the oxygen plants will be equipped with modern technology, producing 1,000 liters per minute of oxygen, which is enough for a 200-bed hospital. He said that since Balakram Hospital is of 100 beds, the additional oxygen produced in 100 beds will be sent to other hospitals.
