New Delhi: Air quality has been recorded in the 'very poor' category for the third consecutive day today with the Air Quality Index (AQI) remaining at 396 in the country's capital Delhi on Tuesday. In the same vein, the Delhi Transport Department has now ordered that vehicles that did not get a pollution certificate will be fined Rs 10,000.

For this challan, about 1600 civil defense volunteers will be posted at more than 400 petrol pumps in Delhi, who will have the right to check pollution certificates and challan. Civil Defence Volunteer Balbir, posted at Delhi's Janpath petrol pump, has given full details of the method of checking the pollution certificate and the manner in which the challan is done, stating that when a vehicle arrives at the petrol pump, its number is put on an app called Vehicle Information, which contains the full details of the vehicle and ascertains whether the train has taken the pollution certificate or not.

He said that in the absence of a pollution certificate, the vehicle owner is asked to get the pollution check done by the pollution checking centre at the petrol pump at the same time. If the car is not polluted, the details of the vehicle are posted on the Google Sheet app. The vehicle number is inserted on the Google Sheet app, then the name of the Civil Defence Volunteer is written. The location of the petrol pump is filled, the pollution or not is overwhelming. Then the information is written as if the vehicle is two wheeler or four wheeler. The person who does not show the papers of his vehicle then sends the information to the transport department. The transport department then delivers up to 10,000 challans to the vehicle owner.

He said there are about 1700,000 vehicles in Delhi which do not have a pollution certificate. Those who have not polluted their vehicles, be careful while going to the petrol pump, as they may have an invoice of up to Rs. 10,000.
