Delhi High Court has given instructions to the police on the problems being faced by students due to the closure of Shaheen Bagh road. Instructions are given to resolve the matter as soon as possible. In protest against the CAA and NRC, the dharna that has been going on for more than a month in Shaheen Bagh has destroyed people's lives. Due to this strike, anger is increasing among the people. The way people used to travel in 20-25 minutes is taking three to four hours to decide.
According to media reports, most of the time of the people is now being spent on the streets. On one hand, the police-administration is proving to be unable to finish this strike. At the same time, instead of handling the jam, the traffic police is missing from the roads. Due to this jam on Friday, the whole of South Delhi came to a standstill.
The closure of the Delhi-Noida road due to the Shaheen Bagh at Kalindi Kunj has come to a complete halt from Mathura Road, Outer Ring Road, Ring Road, DND, Barapula to MB Road. It also took three to four hours for people to cover a distance of two to four kilometers. Due to the stoppage of Mathura Road and DND, people going from Loop from Hazrat Nizamuddin to Sarai Kalekhan and DND of Barapula got stuck in the jam. If found, about 50 car drivers somehow diverted the car and went back on the same loop. Vehicles that were slightly slipping due to reverse movement of traffic on the two-lane one-way road also got stuck in the jam. Because of this, the whole way was stopped. People were stuck in jam for hours, but the vehicles did not budge. After several hours people were able to get out of this jam. Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) NS Bundela was called several times about the lack of traffic police on the road, but he did not receive the call.
