New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the Central Government and the Delhi Police in the case of violence erupted in Jamia over the Citizenship Amendment Act. An affidavit has been sought from both in the entire episode. Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice C Harishankar, while hearing the PILs, have issued notices to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Delhi Police and GNCTD seeking answers.
At present, the court has categorically refused to issue any order in favor of the students. The next hearing of this case will be held on 4 February. In the hearing held on Thursday, the petitioners told the court that the police entered the university incorrectly and left tear gas shells. During this time, the students got injuries. The University's Chief Proctor did not allow the police to enter, about 52 students suffered serious injuries.

He said that the police also did not provide medical help to the students detained. The petitioners said we demand that a retired judge be investigated under the supervision of the court. Police should be prevented from taking action against students. Students have been treated like criminals.
