Ranchi: Polling has started in Jharkhand in the fifth and last phase elections from 7 am. The fate of a total of 237 candidates is going to be decided on a total of 16 assembly seats in Santhal Parganas region. There are 208 male and 29 female candidates among them. The highest number of 26 candidates are contesting on Zermundi seat and the lowest 8 on Podaihat seat.

These seats in the last phase are very important for power. It can also be gauged from this that on the last day of campaigning, where Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Vadra also rallied in Pakud district of Santhal Pargana, most of the big leaders of BJP also organized rallies and public relations. BJP's working president JP Nadda and Babul Supriya left no stone unturned to reach out to the voters.

Actually, the election of the region of Santhal Pargana of Jharkhand is also important because the leader of the state's main opposition party and former CM Hemant Soren, the two seats from which he is contesting, also fall in this region. Hemant Dumka and Barhet are contesting from the assembly seats. At the same time, Congress Legislature Party leader Alamgir Alam, ministers Lewis Marandi and Randhir Singh are also trying their luck. By the way, this area is considered to be a strong fort of JMM, where BJP has engaged in every possible effort for burglary.
