It is noteworthy that in the guise of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), there were incidents of nuisance on Thursday in many parts of the country. In the wake of violent protests, one and a half dozen metro stations in Delhi were closed while trains were stopped in Bihar. Section-144 was imposed in many parts of Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka. Several protesters were also detained on charges of disobeying prohibitory orders. Protests led to the blockade of National Highway-8 in which IndiGo has canceled 19 flights while 16 other flights were canceled due to entanglement of crew members.
