New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal's government of the national capital Delhi has been reprimanded by the Delhi High Court today. On the issue of not getting salary and pension to MCD employees on time, the Delhi High Court has said that we can see how the government gives full-page advertisements in newspapers with pictures of politicians. On the other hand, the salary of employees is not given.
The Delhi High Court said this while hearing public interest litigation in which thousands of MCD employees were not able to get salary for several months due to lack of funds from the Delhi government by the municipal corporations. The court remarked that it is not a crime that in such a difficult time, you are spending money on advertisements. If you give salary to these employees on time, then you can have more fame.
The High Court had ordered the three municipal corporations to pay salaries to all corporation employees by April 5, but so far some employees have been given salaries up to January. In such a situation, the court has today ordered that all the cleaning workers should be given their salary till March immediately. The court told all the MCDs that an extension could no longer be given to pay them further.
