Delhi liquor scam: AAP leader Vijay Nair sent to custody till Oct 20

New Delhi: Vijay Nair, an accused in the Delhi government's famous liquor scam, has been sent to judicial custody till October 20 by the court. The Rouse Avenue court has ordered Vijay Nair to be sent to judicial custody. Vijay Nair is the communication strategist of Delhi's ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

The central probe agency CBI had found Vijay Nair's involvement in alleged corruption in the Delhi government's excise policy. After which he was arrested. Earlier, the court had sent Vijay Nair, an accused in the liquor scam case, to CBI remand till October 6. Vijay Nair was produced before the court again by the CBI after his remand period ended.

At that time, special judge Raghubir Singh in Delhi's Rouse Avenue court had on Monday ordered the extension of Nair's custody till October 6. During the hearing, the court had said, "The allegations made in the FIR are serious and a detailed investigation is necessary to reach any factual conclusion. It would be in favour of justice that Vijay Nair's custody be extended till the 6th of this month.''
