New Delhi: BJP's Pralhad Joshi took a swipe at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge following Kharge's recent comments drawing parallels between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and poison.

Joshi remarked, "Whatever Modiji has done, whether it's his visits to Dwarikadhish or the Ram Temple, they stem from his faith. You might only wear skull caps. Now, you've understood the strength of Hindus. It's not appropriate to question someone's faith." He also expressed gratitude to the Congress for their confidence that the BJP would endure until 2047.

In a press conference in Karnataka's Kalaburagi on Friday, Kharge had remarked, "Maa Ganga has called him (PM Modi). He talks about plans until 2047... if he lives that long. Sometimes he dives into the sea, sometimes he takes dips in the Ganga, sometimes he retreats into caves, sometimes he meditates alone. Perhaps he will reap the rewards of all this 'tapasya'."

Kharge continued, "I believe that if you work hard, you will be rewarded. If you do good deeds, you will see positive outcomes. If someone engages in wrongdoing but still receives rewards, that's their choice. If I say something is poisonous and advise against it, but you still choose to indulge, what will happen? Modi is akin to that."

This isn't the first time Kharge has been embroiled in such controversy. In April last year, during the Karnataka Assembly elections, Kharge likened PM Modi to a "poisonous snake," sparking strong reactions from the BJP. Kharge later clarified that his remarks were directed at the BJP's divisive ideology, not the Prime Minister himself.
