NEW DELHI: A 43-year-old maintenance supervisor in Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC)allegedly killed his wife and six-year-old daughter before taking his own life by hanging in the Shahdara area in New Delhi. The man also traied to kill his 13-year-old son, who is fighting for his life in a hospital.
Investigations came out that the accused had searched online for information on tying knots just before the gruesome act. At the crime scene, police found the bodies of the three victims, while forensic teams are examining the area for further evidence.
The accused was identified as Sushil, his wife Anuradha (43) and their daughter. According to the police, Sushil was employed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation at the East Vinod Nagar depot as a maintenance supervisor.
In a contact to the police control centre that was made at 12:04 p.m., a caller reported that his colleague Sushil had not arrived for work on Tuesday and that when he had called him, Sushil had been crying and claimed to have killed everyone. A police squad responded to the call and arrived at the scene where they discovered three bodies.
Sushal was found hanging, while Anuradha and her daughter were found dead from stab wounds. According to a senior police official, Sushil's 13-year-old kid also received a knife wound and was sent to the hospital right away. Teams from the Forensic Science Laboratory are examining the scene of the crime.
"At first glance, it seems like a case of murder, attempted murder, and suicide. Teams are looking into the incident from all perspectives as part of a larger probe, the official added.
