New Delhi: The Delhi Metro, which has been closed for 169 days due to corona period, is back on track. The metro service has been resumed once again in Delhi on 7th September. So far, it is reported that the train services have been started on the yellow line (Timepur Badli to Huda city centre). The metro departed Huda city centre at 7 am today for Timepur Badli. The metro rail is being run on the 49 km yellow line from today.

There are a total of 37 stations on this route, with 20 stations underground, while 17 are at the height of the elevated. In addition, metro rail on this route is reported to be operational from 7 am to 11 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm. This means that the metro will run total of 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the evening. However, after five days, the Metro service will be operational keeping in view all safety standards on the rest of the route from September 12.

In view of the streamlining and social distancing at the metro station, there have been reports about opening of only one or two entry and exit gates to keep the rush of passengers under control. In addition, DMRC has also issued a guideline on travel in metros. It has been said not to travel in the metro unnecessarily. While travelling, people will have to wear masks as a precaution.
