New Delhi: Delhi Metro on Sunday clarified that the metro will run with full seat capacity from July 26 but will not be allowed to travel vertically. Delhi Metro said that some media reports suggest that the Metro will run with 100 percent capacity, whereas this is not the case and there will be no sanction to stand and travel in the Metro.
Â
In view of the guidelines issued yesterday, wherein, travel in Delhi Metro has been permitted from existing 50% of its seating capacity to 100% with NO STANDING travel from 26 July, some news reports are giving an impression that metro will be operating with 100% of its capacity.

It also informed that with these revised guidelines from Monday, a maximum of 50 passengers will be sanctioned in each coach. Before Corona, a coach had 300 passengers. Earlier on Saturday, the Delhi government has relaxed several items in view of the ever-declining corona cases in Delhi. According to The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), cinema halls, theatres, and multiplexes will be able to work with 50% capacity. With this, the capacity to sit in DTC and cluster buses were also increased to 100%.
Â
In this regard, DMRC would like to reiterate and make it clear that from Monday, even with these revised guidelines, a maximum 50 passengers per coach are permitted, as against 300 prior to COVID. Entry to stations therefore continue to be regulated.

Under the same new rules, 100 people will now be able to attend the wedding ceremony instead of 50. With this, 100 people will now be able to attend the cremation instead of 20. Several exemptions received from July 26 have also approved the opening of spas with conditions. DDMA said that spas in Delhi will also open from Monday. The personnel working in these will have to undergo complete verification (both doses of vaccine) or RT-PCR test every fortnight.
