Delhi: Lt. Governor Anil Baijal has given permission to resume the metro services in the capital at the Delhi Disaster Management meeting held on Wednesday. The Delhi Metro will start again on September 7. But detailed information about this is yet to come.
There is a possibility of Metro services to be started in phases on 7 September. In view of the increase in cases of Coronavirus once again, Metro services are started on different lines in phases. All the precautionary steps will be taken in terms of the safety of passengers when the Metro facility starts. Despite this, if the metro starts running on all the lines simultaneously, then there can be difficulties in controlling the crowd of passengers. Sources said that metro services will be started in a phased manner, keeping in view the data of passengers on different lines, including the containment zone.
There are a total of ten lines of the Delhi Metro including the airport express line. The number of passengers on all routes, including the status of corona cases, and other aspects are being churned. Recently, the Transport Minister of Delhi also spoke about the preparation of the list of metro stations, where passenger services will be provided. The frequency can also be changed due to the low number of passengers on the airport line. Before the start of the metro services, repair and cleaning work is being done near the stations. Passengers facilities are being fixed so that services do not cause problems for the passengers.
