13 students reported food poisoning due to mid-day meal: Delhi

Malnutrition has been a severe issue faced by our country since long back. Its eradication, surely demands a sincere concern. Something which leaves you even more worried is an incident where the efforts made by the Government to provide its future with the basic necessities, ruin the circumstances.  On Tuesday, in an Anganwadi center in Uttam Nagar, 13 children and a helper were reported to be suffering from vomiting and temporary unconsciousness, after they had their mid-day meal.

The 13 children, after they fainted were taken to a nearby hospital, called the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital and admitted.
As per the reports, the Akriti Self Help Group, which is situated in Deepak Vihar of the Uttam Nagar served the students with Rice and boiled gram. The same food was served to a pregnant woman.
Well, the Pregnant woman did not suffer from any uneasiness in the body.
The 47 years old Anita, lives in the Hastal Vihar in Uttam Nagar and has been supervising the Anganwadi center for 11 years.
The Anganwadi center serves, 46 children and 13 pregnant women.
The case has been taken under investigation and the people associated with the Anganwadi are being interrogated. Well, nobody has been taken into an arrest by now.
