Let us also tell you all that on Saturday, the maximum temperature at Safdarjung Observatory was recorded at 42.4 degrees Celsius, which was eight degrees Celsius above normal for this time of the year. Gurugram recorded a temperature of 44.5 degrees Celsius, which was 10 degrees Celsius more than the average. With this, the highest ever temperature in the month of April in Gurugram was recorded at 44.8 degrees Celsius on April 28, 1979.

Now recently, the IMD said that from the coming Tuesday, the sky is expected to get some relief from the scorching heat due to cloudy sky. Mahesh Palawat, vice-president of Skymet Weather, says it is unusual that the maximum temperature in parts of northwest India crossed 45 degrees Celsius in the first 10 days of April. In fact, Palawat said that in April, there is a high chance of Delhi having a hotter than a normal day.

Apart from this, he said that 'Delhi has recorded three hot windy days this month and this situation may continue for the next two to three days. 'Hot wind' condition is declared for plains when the maximum temperature is more than 40 degrees Celsius and is at least 4.5 degrees Celsius above normal.' On the other hand, according to the IMD, 'extremely hot air' condition occurs when the temperature is more than 6.4 degrees Celsius above normal.'
