Delhiites to get relief from heat soon, MET department predicts thunderstorm

New Delhi: The minimum temperature in the national capital Delhi remained at 21.5 degrees Celsius this morning, one degree above the average temperature this season. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed in this regard. The Met department said, it will be partly cloudy during the day and the maximum temperature is likely to be 39 degree Celsius. The humidity level in the air was recorded at 35 per cent till 8.30 am. The city recorded a minimum temperature of 20.6 degrees Celsius on Wednesday while the maximum temperature was recorded at 40 degrees Celsius.

According to the MET department, cyclonic circulation in the South Peninsula is likely to cause thunderstorms and lightning during the next five days in India's southwestern peninsula region, ranging from continuing to heavy rains. During this period, winds of 30-40 kmph are also expected. The MET department said that heavy rain is likely to occur in the southern parts of Tamil Nadu and coastal areas, coastal and southern remote areas of Kerala, Mahe and Karnataka during April 14 to 16.

According to MET department, delhi is likely to receive rain on April 16. Delhiites may get relief from the heat due to change in weather conditions. Thunderstorm is also expected in Delhi. Delhi is likely to remain cloudy on April 17 as well. The same is expected to blow strong winds during the day on April 18 and 19. The department said that due to the impact of fresh western disturbances, rain is forecast in himalayan areas during April 14-17 and adjoining plains during April 15-17.
