Minor who stole a tractor from JNU caught, tells police shocking reason

New Delhi: minor child was so obsessed with a tractor that he not only stole it but also drove for 52 hours in a row to cover 700 kilometers. A tractor was stolen from near admin block in the month of June. A complaint of theft was lodged with Vasant Kunj North police station. After which the police got into action. The first in the operation was police scanned CCTV footage and at the same time put the numbers coming out of the main gate of admin block and JNU on surveillance. There was a number in it, which belonged to this minor.

A team led by SHO Rajkumar of Vasant Kunj North police station was formed after putting the number on surveillance. This included SI Hemant, SI Shiv Kumar, Head Constable Rambir, who is the IO of the case, Head Constable Jag Pravesh, and Constable Ravi Kumar. The team launched an investigation and based on surveillance, Delhi Police personnel reached Chitrakoot in Madhya Pradesh.  Here the police noticed that the tractor stolen from the JNU was running in the fields. The police then reached the minor who was driving the tractor and when the police questioned him, he narrated a story of the theft of the tractor, which stunned the police. He explained that he had no intention of stealing the tractor. In fact, all of his relatives and those around him have tractors, but he doesn't have a single tractor. He wanted to bring a tractor to his house, but he didn't have that much money.

Then he told his family that tractors are auctioned in Delhi and he would buy tractors from Delhi. The housemates gave him Rs. 15,000 to buy a tractor.  He also took some money from his relatives and left saying that he would buy a tractor from Delhi. He came to Delhi from Chitrakoot where he stole the tractor from inside the JNU premises. In fact, the minor's father was a guard on the JNU campus for a few days, so the minor thief had no problem entering the campus and stole the tractor.
