New Delhi: Delhi Police has registered a case against Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu and gangster Lakkha Sidhana in connection with the violence that erupted during the farmers' tractor parade on January 26. The investigations are also underway into the role of both in the violence. Police have registered more than 25 cases in the case. So far 19 accused have been arrested while 50 people are in custody.

Deep Sidhu had come live on Facebook and said, "We hoisted Nishan Sahib's flag at the Red Fort under our democratic right to perform, but the Indian flag was not removed." Two days before the incident, Deep Sidhu and gangster Lakkha Sidhana came to Delhi. Lakkha had also made provocative speeches among the farmers sitting on the red light at the Singhu border. Deep Sidhu is in the spotlight for several reasons after the incident. In 2019, actor Sunny Deol had also placed Deep Sidhu in his election campaign team when he contested the Lok Sabha elections from Gurdaspur.

However, after the violent incident at the Red Fort, Sunny Deol tweeted, "I or my family have nothing to do with Deep Sidhu." While there are more than two dozen cases registered in Punjab on Lakkha Sidhana, including murder, looting, kidnapping, ransom. Also, cases of Arms Act have been registered on Lakkha. Several years' jail has also been cut in these cases. In most cases, Lakkha has also been acquitted due to lack of witnesses or evidence.
