Pakistan conspired on Zubair's arrest, money came from UAE

New Delhi: Controversial website AltNews co-founder Mohammed Zubair does not seem to be getting relief at the moment. On Saturday (July 2, 2022), after the end of the 4-day police custody, the Delhi Police produced the accused Zubair before the Patiala House Court in Delhi. With this, the police have sought 14 days of judicial custody of Zubair. Police say Zubair is not cooperating with the investigation.

At the same time, during the social media analysis, the police found that most of the Twitter account supporting Zubair after his arrest were from Pakistan. There have also been a large number of posts from the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait in support of Zubair. AltNews' parent company 'Pravda Media' has received Rs 2,31,933 from abroad. According to the response given by the payment gateway named 'Razorpay,' there were several transactions whose IP addresses were found to be those of Bangkok, Manama, North Holland, Victoria, New York, Singapore and Riyadh. These include locations like Baldiyat Ad Dawa, Sharjah, Stockholm, Aichi, New Jersey, Ontario, California, Texas and Dubai and Scotland.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Snigdha Sarvaria heard the matter. During the hearing, public prosecutor Atul Srivastava told the court that the accused needed to be taken into custody and interrogated. Because Zubair is not cooperating in the interrogation. Atul Srivastava also told the court that the police have also registered fresh cases against Zubair under sections 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 201 (destruction of evidence) of the IPC and section 35 of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act. Zubair, meanwhile, has filed a bail plea in the court, in which he has said that there is no need for any further investigation after his electronic devices were seized.

During the hearing of the case, Zubair's lawyer Vrinda Grover told the court that she feared that the electronic goods seized by Zubair could be tampered with. In such a situation, these fears of his should be kept on record. The public prosecutor has informed the court that when Zubair's phone was reviewed, it was found that he was using Redmi's phone. At the same time, when his phone was seized, Zubair took out the SIM and put another mobile phone. An examination of his call records revealed that he has received funding from several countries, including the UAE.

At the same time, Zubair's lawyer Grover has alleged that his phone was frozen while travelling. He also asked if it was a crime to format your phone. Zubair claimed that his tweet stated that he was using an Android mobile. Then why was my laptop confiscated? Along with this, Zubair has also demanded a review of the data as well as its security. Zubair said the phone he tweeted from in 2018 was broken by someone in March this year. Now he's lost. Zubair was arrested on June 27 over a tweet insulting Hindu gods and goddesses, but now the police have also registered some new cases against him.
