New Delhi: The monsoon session of Parliament begins tomorrow i.e. Farmers' organizations have announced the siege of Parliament on July 22 demanding repeal of agricultural laws. But Delhi police are not allowing demonstrations outside Parliament House. A meeting between Delhi Police and farmer leaders is now being held on the same issue today i.e. Let me tell you that this meeting is going on at Mantram Banquet Hall near Singhu Border and joint CP and DCP level officers are present in the meeting. In fact, a delegation of 9 members is present in the meeting on behalf of the farmers.
In such a situation, the police do not want the farmers to stage a dharna in front of Parliament. There are reports that Delhi police are not in favour of sanctioning the demonstration before Parliament. However, in this meeting, it will be made clear by the police that farmers will not be allowed to demonstrate in front of Parliament House. But farmers can be given the option of Jantar Mantar and only a limited number of farmers will be able to participate in it.
Let me tell you that earlier a meeting was held between the farmers and the Delhi Police on 24th January. In the same meeting, the police had allowed a limited number of farmers to take out tractor marches on Republic Day. Meanwhile, incidents of violence were reported all over Delhi. In fact, there were violent clashes between the police and the farmers at many places during this period. Let us also tell you that 7 metro stations in Delhi NCR were put on alert so that they can be closed at any time if required.
