Lucknow: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra arrived to meet BSP Supremo Mayawati on Sunday and condoled the death of her mother. Mayawati's mother Ramrati passed away on Saturday. Priyanka Gandhi arrived at Mayawati's Delhi residence to pay homage to her mother.

Priyanka Gandhi reached Mayawati's residence at 3 Thyagaraj Marg in Delhi this morning and met her. Priyanka condoled the passing away of her mother and paid homage. Earlier, Priyanka has also tweeted her condolences on the death of her mother. According to a press release issued by the BSP, Mayawati's mother died of heart failure on Saturday. She died in the hospital at the age of 92. Mayawati's father Prabhudayal passed away on November 19 last year at the age of 95.

A statement issued by the BSP said Mayawati was leaving for Delhi soon after receiving information about her mother's death. Ramrati is scheduled to be cremated in Delhi on Sunday. Party leaders and workers have condoled the passing away of the party president's mother.  Mayawati's father Prabhu Dayal passed away about a year ago at the age of 95.
