New Delhi: Government schools in the national capital Delhi are not just headmasterless. There is also a salary crisis in front of the teachers. In this case, the Delhi High Court has also lashed out at the Kejriwal government of the state. The court said on Wednesday (April 13, 2022) that teachers build the future of the country. They should not be treated like this. Hearing the matter, a bench of Justice Subramaniam Prasad said that the argument of non-payment of salaries to teachers due to paucity of money cannot go on in this case. The court was hearing the contempt petitions filed by the teachers. In these, the teachers have complained about non-payment of salaries according to the 6th and 7th pay commissions. The court told the counsel appearing for the Directorate of Education and the Delhi government that how can such a treatment be done to the teachers? They build the future of the country.

The order of the court to pay salaries to teachers is being completely disobeyed. They are forced to file a case and then they are dragged to the top court. The last hearing in the matter will be held on Monday (18 April 2022). On this day, the Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi will have to present a list of all the teachers whose salaries have not been paid. Along with this, the court also said that it does not want to hear the statement that he is implementing. The reply of the Delhi government in the court should be that they have implemented.

There is no principal in many schools of Delhi :-

Let us inform that earlier the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) had asked the Kejriwal government to clarify on 824 vacant posts of principals in government schools in Delhi. In fact, NCPCR, while visiting government schools in Delhi, has found that out of 1027 schools under the education department of the NCT government, only 203 have head masters or acting head masters. In other schools the post of headmaster is vacant. The NCPCR has asked the Chief Secretary, Delhi Government, Vijay Dev, to share the factual position regarding the vacancies of such posts and the action taken by the Education Department till April 19. In the letter, the NCPCR has said that a team led by Chairman Priyank Kanungo visited several schools in the national capital and found lapses with respect to infrastructure and other aspects.
