New Delhi: Numerous flights bound for Delhi experienced delays, and more than 18 flights were redirected to alternative cities like Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and Amritsar due to poor visibility caused by fog on Saturday morning. Sources indicate that at least 18 flights were rerouted to Jaipur, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and Amritsar between 7.30 am and 10.30 am.

SpiceJet Airlines issued an alert via X, stating, "Weather Update: Due to adverse weather conditions in Delhi (DEL), all departures/arrivals and subsequent flights may be impacted. Passengers are advised to monitor their flight status online." Vistara Airlines had to divert two flights on Saturday due to low visibility at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. Flight UK906 from Ahmedabad to Delhi returned to Ahmedabad, while Flight UK954 from Mumbai to Delhi was rerouted to Jaipur.

These diversions were a direct response to unfavorable weather conditions that led to poor visibility across the national capital. On Saturday, Delhi's air quality improved slightly, moving from the 'severe' category to the 'very poor' category, registering an overall Air Quality Index (AQI) of 368. Data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) recorded at 6 am indicated an AQI of 349 in the Lodhi Road area, 366 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, and 388 in the Anand Vihar area.

The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMD), New Delhi, forecasted moderate fog in the morning with a minimum temperature of 12 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, with a minimal chance of rain. The Air Quality Index (AQI) scale categorizes air quality from 0 to 50 as good, 51 to 100 as satisfactory, 101 to 200 as moderate, 201 to 300 as poor, 301 to 400 as very poor, 401 to 450 as severe, and above 450 as severe-plus.
