Tragic Train Accident Near Jahangirabad Claims Lives of Two Railway Employees

Lucknow: In a tragic incident near Jahangirabad railway station, two railway employees lost their lives, and another suffered severe injuries as they were hit by an oncoming train while attempting to repair a faulty signal. The incident occurred on Thursday along the Gonda-Barabanki railway section.

The victims were identified as Arvind Kumar (28), Tala Soren alias Kallu (45), and Devi Prasad (30), who were engaged in fixing a signal pole when the Cochin Express and Barauni Express approached on the up and down tracks simultaneously. The collision occurred with the 12512 Cochin Express, resulting in immediate fatality for Kumar, while Soren succumbed to injuries later.

Devi Prasad, the third worker involved, was admitted to the hospital in critical condition. Arvind Kumar was an electrician stationed at Jahangirabad railway station, Soren served as a signal assistant, and Prasad worked as a contractual employee for the Railways. The Government Railway Police station is currently investigating the matter.
