Indian economy is seeing the demonetization and people are struggling in long queues at banks and ATMs. Almost everyone is suffered from the government hope of better tomorrow. Indian Premier Tennis League session is not seeing the star players like Roger Federer and Serena Williams because of the economic crunch being there in the country. India tennis ace, Leander Paes has confirmed their absence.

“We have had challenges this year and we are hoping to get past them. With the current economic climate in India and
uncertainty of spending money, I reached out to both Roger (Federer) and Serena (Williams) to explain the situation. They have been very supportive of the IPTL the first two seasons and we look forward to bring them in Futures,” Bhupathi said in a statement.

“Based on some problems and uncertainties surrounding the IPTL this year, Roger won’t be playing but he hopes to play in future years if the IPTL continues.", said Federer's agent.
