After Brexit, UK is no more attractive for foreigners

Working outside our native nation is common nowadays. Many people moved to another country in order to find better opportunities. In a study that was organized by Boston Consulting Group and totaljobs.com, London as the first choice of workers as it headed the list of the desirable city for overseas workers. The study was operated on over 366,000 workers from nearly 200 countries.

However, London has retained its position but on overall side UK as a country has loses the workers due to Brexit. At the same time, more people are showing their interest to migrate overseas from the UK. On dropping of UK at fifth place from second in four years Nick South, Boston Consulting Group partner said “At the same time, British workers’ willingness to work abroad has significantly increased, from well below average in 2014 (44%) to above the average in 2018 (62%). This is the largest increase seen in any country globally.” He added “Together, these two talent trends create a major challenge for the UK. It is critical for UK private and public sector organizations to get on the front foot and proactively take steps to attract and retain top-class talent to ensure their future success.”

In terms of attracting foreigners UK loose to US, Germany, Canada and Australia even after holding the crown highest capital. One of the interviewer while expressing his disappointment said that “The fact that the UK might no longer be part of European research collaborations means that it is a less interesting choice for me as an academic. My wife runs her own business and, for her, possibilities in the UK would have been better if Brexit hadn’t happened”
