A house and a goshala were buried in the debris due to a landslide in Kwansi village of Chakrata block on Thursday morning. Three people lost their lives while 4 others were injured in the incident. 26 animals have also lost their lives in the debris. Relief and rescue teams rushed to the spot as soon as the incident was reported and relief operations have been launched with the help of villagers. All the bodies have been removed from the debris. The DM has directed immediate compensation to the affected families.

The incident took place at 9.30 am: The entire Dehradun district, including chakrata areas, started drizzling from Wednesday itself. The rain suddenly intensified around 9.30am on Thursday. A huge quantity of debris started coming towards Munna's house with a loud bang on top of bijnadh sanchi in Chakrata area. Before which a part of the house was engulfed in debris after people understood something. One youth and two girls were also killed while 4 others were injured in the incident.

Names of injured: Bano, Wife Munnadas-32, Mukul, Son Munnadas-15, Usha, Wife Vikram-30, Balo, Wife Shivpal - 31

26 animals also killed: A goshala has also been buried in the debris in the cloudburst incident. This claimed the lives of 26 animals. The dying animals include 15 goats, 5 cows, 5 bulls and one mule.
