Ashadhi Ekadashi 2019: Ekadashi of Shukla side of Ashadhi Mass is known somewhere as 'Ashadhi Ekadashi', somewhere 'Harishyani Ekadashi' and somewhere known as 'Devshayani Ekadashi'. It is believed that Lord Vishnu, from the Ashadha Shukla side to the Kartik Shukla side, is absorbed in deep sleep in the Kshirsagar.
There are no auspicious tasks during this time. It is from this day that Chaturmas starts. The festival of Devashyani Ekadashi will be celebrated on 12th July this year.
Four Months Not Auspicious Work
The worship of Lord Vishnu will begin on the evening of 11th July from the Pradosh period. The next day, The Day will begin from the morning of Gyaras i.e. Ekadashi, Devashyani Ekadashi. It is also mentioned in the Puranas that four months from the day of the Ekadashi of Lord Vishnu Ashadha Shuklapaksha (Chaturmas) in the Hadal Lok, the king lives at the entrance of the sacrificial fire and returns to Kartik Shukla Ekadashi.
In these four months, auspicious activities like Yagyopavita Sanskar, marriage, initiation, Yagya, home inauguration are not performed. According to the Puranas, the Padma Purana and the Srimad Bhagwat Purana, Harishyan is called 'Yoganidra'.
Abandon Devshayani Ekadashi
It is believed that the sweet tone is considered to be credited with sacrificing jaggery, oil for longevity or son attainment, bitter oil for enemy destruction, sweet oil for good fortune, and sacrifice of wreaths for the attainment of heaven. Do not perform any auspicious tasks during Chaturmas. Sleep on the ground, speak the truth, meat, honey, rice, yoghurt, radish and eggplant should not be consumed in food.
