New Delhi: Directorate General of GST Intelligence, i.e. DGGI, has arrested GST theft of Rs 1.5 crore of a pan masala manufacturer company in Kanpur. DGGI has raided many of the company's locations. On being caught stealing in the raid, the company has collected Rs 1.03 crore on the spot accepting tax evasion.

DGGI Deputy Director Kamlesh Kumar said that his team got information from Pan Masala Company AJ Sugandhi Private Limited based in Dadanagar in Kanpur to send pan masala to dealers in Kanpur, Kannauj, Bareilly, Unnao, Fatehpur and other places without paying GST was. Raids were started by making 11 teams of 60 officers from Kanpur, Lucknow and Agra.

During this, searches were carried out at the company's factories, godowns, housing and transporters' bases along with major dealers based in Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat and Hamirpur, which revealed tax evasion of Rs 1.5 crore. Company director Avinash Modi, while accepting tax evasion, collected Rs 1.03 crore. Officials said that pan masala and tobacco were being made from this company under the name SNK. Explain that a large section of the country does not pay tax, which is a challenge for the government.
