Mumbai: The main runway of Mumbai Airport, which is among the country's financial capital and busiest airports, will remain closed for five months. It has been decided to keep it closed due to repair work at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. From November 1, repair work will continue on every Sunday and excluding government holidays. Senior officials said that a new surface would be put on the runway. This is likely to alter the operating time of the aircraft and cause inconvenience to passengers.

An airport spokesperson said that the main runway 09/27 would be closed for operational aircraft from November 1 to March 2020.
