Famous South actor Dhanush appeared before the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court today to defend the paternity claim made by an elderly couple.

An elderly couple had filed a suit that Dhanush is their biological son named K. Kalaichelvan who had moved to Chennai to pursue a career in acting.

Also, the couple claimed a maintenance of Rs 65000 from him. However, the Court quashed his petition, "Simply filing an affidavit will not prove that the petitioner does not have such identification marks... No expert had verified those marks. There is also every possibility of disfiguration of the marks since they have now come to his knowledge."

While Dhanush in his petition claimed, "I am not K. Kalaichelvan. I am K.Dhanush. I was formerly known as R.K. Vengadesha Prabhu. He further also said that the claims by the elderly couple are fake and this is a clear case of blackmail. Denying the identification marks mentioned by the couple."

According to him, somebody is probably behind the couple to extract money from him.
