There are many such places in India, which very few people know about and one such place is Dhanushkodi. Dhanushkodi is on the eastern coast of Tamil Nadu, India, on the banks of Rameswaram Island and is also known as the end of India. From here, Sri Lanka can be seen. There used to be a lot of people here at one time, but now there is nothing left but listening.
During the day, people come here to roam a lot, although, before nightfall, all the people are sent back from here. This is because walking here during the night is absolutely forbidden. People go to Rameswaram before dusk. According to the information, the road from Dhanushkodi to Rameswaram is 15 kilometres long and is also very deserted.
Before the dreaded cyclone of 1964, Dhanushkodi used to be one of the best tourist destination of India and during that time railway station, hospital, church, hotel and post office were all built-in Dhanushkodi. However, everything was destroyed by the cyclone that came in the year 1964. It is also said that during this time a train with more than a hundred passengers was drowned in the sea and since then this place has been deserted. It is also said that whoever comes here at night does not survive.
