In spite of four rounds of counselling in UG and PG courses, seats in colleges are still vacant so Department of Higher Education (DHE) has announced one additional round. Similarly, the DHE has also announced third additional round for teacher education programmes. Students can register for counselling from November 16. There are 8 lakh seats in UG courses and 1.70 lakh seats in PG across the state.

Colleges affiliated to Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidyalaya (DAVV) has round 1 lakh seats in UG courses including BA, BCom and BSc, of which close to 80,000 seats have been filled. Similarly, nearly 34,000 out of 40,000 seats in PG course in colleges under DAVV have been filled. As far as teacher education programme is concerned, nearly 95 per cent seats in BEd courses have been filled and close to 50 per cent have been filled in MEd courses. The teacher education colleges have demanded one more round for filling the vacancies. The DHE accepted their demand.

The whole admission process is generally completed in 75 days but this year state government citing Covid-19 situation is providing many opportunities to students to secure admission, stretching the process to 125 days.
