Digital Transactions could keep corruption in check: Yogi Adityanath

LUCKNOW: Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh,  who addressed the national conference of Banking Correspondent Sakhi today, May 25, has emphasized that digital transactions could keep corruption in check.

The Chief Minister was addressing following the opening of a two-day national Banking Correspondent Sakhi conference, which was held in response to the introduction of the "Samarth 2023" initiative to promote digital transactions at the gramme panchayat level.

"We need to turn to 'digital transactions' if we're going to combat corruption. Use of technology is required. Technology will be used to combat corruption, and the underprivileged will also receive facilities, he said.

Speaking about Banking Correspondent Sakhi, he stated that 55,000 of the state's 56,000 gramme panchayats had already finished the selection procedure for the position. 

These Banking Correspondent Sakhis are an excellent example of women's empowerment and are facilitating transactions in every hamlet by acting as mini-branch locations for banks.

Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Giriraj Singh said, India was able to lead the digital revolution because of its strong and stable prime minister.

Keshav Prasad Maurya, minister of rural development for the state of Uttar Pradesh, said ever since women started working as bank sakhis, esteem for women has increased a lot.
