LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath government is launching a special campaign to develop the coverage of the ambitious Prime-Minister-Kisan-Samman-Nidhi-Yojana (PMKSNY) that provides Rs 6,000 to entitiledd farmers annually in the state.
The campaign, which runs from May 22 to June 10, aims to cover as many farmers as possible under the programme in order to completely cover the Gramme Panchayat.
Officers and staff from the agriculture department, including those from the revenue, rural development, and panchayati raj departments, will knock on doors as part of this campaign.
The programme involves 2,83,10,177 farmers in Uttar Pradesh.
A state government spokesperson said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to continuously run a campaign to assist all qualified farmers in the state. D.S. Mishra, the chief secretary, has been ordered to keep an eye on how the programme is being implemented.
Mishra recently convened a gathering of farmers who had been denied access to the program's benefits. He was told by several agencies that the programme has not reached a significant percentage of farmers in the state who applied through the open source.
