Indore: A special court in Indore today sentenced six criminals, including former and senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh, former MP Premchand Guddu, to one-year imprisonment each in connection with the 2011 incident of assault in Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh. Along with this, the court also imposed a fine of 5-5 thousand.

In fact, while going to attend a Congress function in 2011, former CM Digvijay Singh, the then Ujjain MP Premchand Guddu and seven others had a dispute with BJP workers. In this case, BJP workers had registered a case under various sections against 9 criminals including Digvijay Singh, Premchand Guddu. Six criminals including former Madhya Pradesh CM Digvijay Singh, former MP Premchand Guddu were convicted in the case yesterday in Indore, while six criminals were released by the court for want of evidence. All the six criminals, including former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh and Premchand Guddu, were granted bail on a bond of Rs 25,000 each by paying a fine of Rs 5,000 in court.

Government advocate Vimal Kumar Mishra told that the sentence of all the criminals was less than 3 years, so they have been released on bail. On the other hand, Digvijay Singh's lawyer said that he will appeal in the High Court in the said matter. Former MP Premchand Guddu said that he does not want to comment on the court's decision, but he will appeal against the said sentence in the High Court. At the same time, Premchand Guddu also said that former CM Digvijay Singh was getting Z plus security at the time of the said incident. The statement of any officer involved in this security was not taken in the court.
